Liverpool are reportedly planning to make a £16m bid for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi.
The Anfield outfit are said to be in the market for a new striker after the departure of top scorer Luis Suarez earlier this summer, and see Icardi as an ideal replacement.
Inter Milan want £28m for the in-demand 21-year-old, however, and the Reds will need to increase the proposed offer before any talks can begin, according to the Daily Express.
A report earlier today claimed that Liverpool were hoping to land Monaco striker Radamel Falcao from Monaco, but the Ligue 1 club's sporting director Vadim Vasilyev later denied that any talks were ongoing.
