Juan Mata welcomes Daley Blind to Manchester United ahead of £14m switch

Juan Mata has welcomed Daley Blind to Manchester United ahead of his £14m summer move.

Blind has been constantly linked with a switch to Old Trafford, with boss Louis van Gaal keen on a reunion with the versatile Netherlands international.

The 24-year-old was key to van Gaal's World Cup campaign in Brazil, where they reached the semi-finals.

The Ajax man is reportedly set to join the Red Devils today in a £14m deal and Mata has welcomed him in his blog, along with club record signing Angel Di Maria.

"As you read this, many things are happening before the transfer window expires today," Mata wrote.

"Here I would like to welcome Di María and Blind to the club.

"I am sure these two players will give a lot to us and will strengthen the team. We already know what Ángel is capable of, his ability and dribbling skills, and Daley has a great touch and is very intelligent, as he showed during the World Cup."
