Garcia warns Roma he wants deeper squad

Rudi Garcia has warned AS Roma he wants them to meet his ambitions.

Garcia is ready for new contract talks with management.

“I want to stay at Roma but I want a competitive team,” Garcia said. “I want a team capable of competing in the Champions League and at the same time challenging for the Scudetto.

“My desire is clear. I have told the club what I think. The rumours about PSG and other clubs don’t interest me.

“I’m not setting certain criteria, what I am saying is that next season we’ll be in the Champions League and we need to be ready.

“We will also be playing in a League which will be even more difficult than this year. Maybe we will get less points but win the Scudetto.

“More than anything though, we need to be in good shape to play in the Champions League.

“We won’t be expecting to win it because at the moment that wouldn’t be possible, we’re not built to do that yet.

“But I at least want us to top our group and get through to the next round.

“We still need to talk about the transfer market. This is a short week as we play Milan on Friday so we are concentrating on the League."
