Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan have less than a month to trigger their option to convert Taarabt's loan deal into a permanent transfer.
And it's claimed United have made contact with QPR about an €8.5 million deal for the Morocco international.
This news follows reports that United are also in talks with Valencia about a deal for Adil Rami, also currently on-loan at Milan.
