Marco Reus has generated interest from Manchester United and Liverpool, and his release clause will put them on standby.
Bayern Munich have also been chasing the Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder but it has transpired that Reus' real release clause fee is just £20million.
German paper Bild suggested that Reus' figure is around £20m on the front page of their paper.
It was originally thought that his release clause was set at around £30m, however the real figure is thought to be much lower.
Rumours have abounded in recent months that a move to United or Liverpool could be on the cards for 25-year-old Reus who is yet to agree a new contract with Dortmund.
However, the revelation of his release clause could see a renewed effort from United and Liverpool to lure him away from the Westfalenstadion.
Reus is currently contracted with Dortmund until 2017.
