Southampton have reportedly won the battle to sign Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgium international is believed to have been in talks with Sunderland last week, while a number of other Premier League side are also said to have been keen on the 25-year-old.
However, Goal.com now reports that Ronald Koeman has made a late move for the defender, and it set to beat the Saints' Premier League rivals to the centre-back's signature.
Alderweireld joined the Spanish champions from Ajax last summer, but featured in just 12 La Liga matches last season.
