Galatasaray face UEFA punishment following crowd trouble against Dortmund

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Galatasaray following last night's unsavoury scenes in their Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund.

The match, which ended in a 4-1 triumph for Bundesliga's Dortmund, had to be halted twice due to crowd trouble in Germany.

Police arrested 21 Galatasaray supporters after flares were thrown onto the pitch during the European fixture.

The Turkish club have now been charged with crowd disturbances and could face a ban on their supporters from attending their final away group match against Anderlecht on November 26.
