ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHDAY 27 ROUND UP

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE MATCHDAY 27 ROUND UP

It took a last gasp John Terry effort at Stamford Bridge to earn CHELSEA a narrow win over EVERTON,as the Blues skipper slide past Tim Howard from Lampard's freekick to steal all 3 points for the hosts, despite Roberto Martinez's men encouraging performance,as Chelsea maintain top spot in the Premier League standings.

ARSENAL ensured there were no mistakes when SUNDERLAND visited the Emirates,as they responded to Champions League defeat against Bayern with the perfect response. Apologetic Olivier Giroud scored twice, before setting up Tomas Rosicky.Laurent Koscielny then scored from Santi Cazorla's assist to round up the route for the Gunners, before Giaccherini ensured there was a consolation for sorry Black Cats.

Yaya Toure once again rose to the occasion to ensure Citizens kept pace with the League leaders in MANCHESTER CITY'S narrow win over STOKE CITY. Yaya Toure rifled home from Kolarov's cross less than 20minutes to the end,as Manuel Pellegrini's men put Barcelona sorrows away.

Daniel Sturrigde and Henderson ensured the day was the LIVERPOOL'S, as both scored brace to keep resilient SWANSEA CITY at bay. Daniel Sturridge rounded Vorm inside the opening three minutes, and Jordan Henderson composed the scoreline with a superb strike from Sturridge's pass. Swans fought back,as Jonjo Shelvey rifled home a perfect strike from Dyer's pass, after which Wilfried Bony's header clipped off the head of Skrtel to deflect past Mignolet, and pull the visitors level.
Daniel Sturridge headed home a perfect Luis Suarez cross to restore Reds lead again, only for Bony to convert from the spot, after been fouled by Skrtel in the box,to pull Swansea level yet again, after the break. The scoring would be put to bed though with less than 20minutes left,Henderson firing home his own rebound, after an initial save from Vorm,as Reds coasted to victory to retain 4th place and maintain 4 points gap from the League summit.

A 47th minute Robert Snodgrass effort condemned 5th placed TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR to defeat,as the NORWICH CITY climb to 14th in the League rankings to leave their visitors 10points from the League summit.

Robin van Persie struck a penalty in the second half and Wayne Rooney rounded off the route with a £300,000-a-week strike as MANCHESTER UNITED eased past CRYSTAL PALACE at Selhurst Park,to continue their climb up the League table.
