Yannick Sagbo, Benoit Assou-Ekotto charged by Football Association

Hull City's Yannick Sagbo and Tottenham Hotspur's Benoit Assou-Ekotto have both charged with improper conduct by the Football Association.

The pair are alleged to have made posts on social media relating to the 'quenelle' gesture.

Meanwhile, Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri and Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho have been issued warnings over similar incidents.

"It is alleged that in each case (involving Sagbo and Assou-Ekotto) the comment was abusive and/or indecent and/or insulting and/or improper, contrary to Rule E3(1)," read an official FA statement.

"It is further alleged that each players' breach of Rule E3(1) was an "Aggravated Breach" as defined in Rule E3(2), as the comment included a reference to ethnic origin and/or race and/or religion or belief."

Sagbo and Assou-Ekotto have until April 8 to respond to the charge.
