Football legend Zinedine Zidane is poised to become the new manager of Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, according to reports in France.
Zidane, who played for the Girondins early on in his career, is currently the assistant coach to Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid.
Widespread reports in the French media suggested that the 1998 World Cup winner is assured to replace Francis Gillot at the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud did little to dampen the growing speculation, telling French radio station RMC: "It's a rumour and the time is coming, when it's the moment to discuss the set up for next season we'll talk about it then."
Bordeaux sit seventh in Ligue 1 with two games left to play.
