Laurent Koscielny signs new long-term Arsenal contract

Arsenal have announced that defender Laurent Koscielny has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract at the Emirates.

Manager Arsene Wenger revealed yesterday that the Frenchman was "close" to agreeing fresh terms with the North London outfit.

It has now been confirmed on the club's official website that Koscielny, who has made 163 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Ligue 1 side Lorient in 2010, will extend his stay.

"I am very proud to have reached agreement with the club on a new contract," Koscielny said. "I have enjoyed four great years at Arsenal already, and I look forward to continuing to help the team in the years to come."

Wenger added: "Laurent has proven himself to be an outstanding player since joining us in 2010 and has showed his quality once again this season. I am delighted he has decided to commit his future to the club."

The 28-year-old has kept 15 clean sheets in his 31 appearances in the Premier League this season.
