Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa forward Darren Bent.
The 30-year-old has spent the last season on loan at Fulham, but has ruled out a return to the Cottagers following their relegation.
According to the Evening Standard, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is keen on bringing Bent to St James' Park as he looks to strengthen his attack.
Pardew had been hopeful of signing Loic Remy on a permanent basis after his loan spell, but the Frenchman has admitted that he wants to play for a club in the Champions League.
Bent scored three goals in the Premier League for Fulham last season.
