Samir Nasri's girlfriend apologises for Twitter rant following France snub

The girlfriend of Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has apologised for causing any offence after slamming the French national team on Twitter.

Brighton-born model Anara Atanes took to the social networking site to vent her anger after France manager Didier Deschamps opted against including the midfielder in his 23-man squad for the World Cup in Brazil.

The model has now attempted to clarify her comments by insisting that she was not insulting the entire country when she wrote "fuck France" in one of her posts.

She tweeted: "Im going to address this once and once only... I apologize if i offended anyone from france, My tweets were not aimed at the nation as a whole."

Nasri, who secured a Premier League winners' medal with Manchester City last weekend, has since suggested that he may retire from international football following the rejection.
