Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has offered an apology to Italy's Giorgio Chiellini after biting him at the World Cup.
Suarez was given a nine-match international ban and a four-month suspension from all football-related activity following the incident, which took place during his country's win over Italy last week.
Suarez had maintained his innocence in the wake of the saga by claiming that he had fallen on Chiellini, but the 27-year-old has now shown a degree of contrition by reaching out to the defender.
