Manchester United consider £65m bid for Liverpool's Luis Suarez

Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise big-money move for Liverpool star Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan has already been linked with a summer switch to Real Madrid after netting 31 Premier League goals last season.

Despite the player himself suggesting that he will remain at Anfield as they embark on a Champions League campaign next season, it has not stopped transfer speculation from surrounding the striker.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, United manager Louis van Gaal, who is believed to be keen to purchase a new striker to play alongside Robin van Persie, could test Liverpool's resolve with a £65m bid for Suarez.

The 27-year-old, who is racing to recover from knee surgery in a bid to be fit for the World Cup in Brazil, signed a new long-term deal at Anfield in December.
