Sweden 0-2 Belgium : Chelsea duo fire Belgium to win over Sweden

Belgium have secured a 2-0 win over Sweden in their international friendly at Friends Arena in preparation from the World Cup.

Both sides had chances to take the lead in the opening 11th minutes, but it was the visitors who came closest when Eden Hazard flicked the ball in towards Vincent Kompany, who could only head straight to the keeper.

Kevin de Bruyne almost broke the deadlock a couple of minutes later but his curling effort from the edge of the box was kept out by the crossbar.

Belgium continued to create the majority of the chances, and finally found the back of the net in the 35th minute when Romelu Lukaku curled the ball into the top corner from 25 yards out.

Sweden struggled for possession early in the second half, but defended well to prevent the visitors from doubling their lead.

However, the hosts almost got back on level terms with just over 20 minutes to play when Jimmy Durmaz tried to power the ball home from just inside the box, but it came back off the crossbar.

The miss proved costly shortly after when Hazard won the ball in midfield before rounding a defender on the edge of the box and sending in a low drive for Belguim's second goal of the night.
