Simon Mignolet not worried by Victor Valdes reports

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has claimed that he is unconcerned about reports linking the club with a move for Victor Valdes.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly weighing up a move for the ex-Barcelona shot-stopper, and the Anfield side would be able to add him to their squad outside of the transfer window due to the Spaniard's status as a free agent.

However, the Belgian has dismissed the stories and played down the pressure of playing for the 18-time champions.

"If I had to look into all the players who are linked with Liverpool, then there would be another team on the pitch! Every week there would be a different 11 playing," he told the Liverpool Echo.

"If you play for a big club, you have to accept that is the way it is, but I don't read anything into that. I am here to play my game and to do my best every week. I can only work hard in training, be positive and make sure I play well.

"The only pressure is what you put yourself under. What is pressure? Pressure is what is happening in Iraq at the moment where there is a war. That is pressure."

Mignolet became the most expensive goalkeeper in Liverpool's history when he signed for around £9m in the summer of 2013.
