Wenger has "huge respect" for Liverpool fans

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed the "huge respect" that he holds for the Liverpool supporters. The Gunners manager takes his squad to Anfield on Sunday looking to avenge last season's 5-1 hammering, and Wenger has told reporters of how he admires the Reds fans. The Frenchman said: "I've a lot of respect for the crowd at Liverpool because they stand by their team and I remember one game at Liverpool we were winning 5-1 (in the League Cup) and they were chanting 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. "So it is one of the few grounds in the world that is a special combination of knowledge of the game and of support of their team and I have huge respect for that." Asked if last season's result will give him added motivation for the trip, Wenger added: "Every defeat leaves a scar in your heart." Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League.
