Cesc Fabregas has shed light on his spectacular start at Chelsea, and claims he never thought he would get the chance to work with Jose Mourinho.
The 27-year-old has become an instrumental figure for the Blues this term since his £30m move to Stamford Bridge last summer, and has weighed in with 15 assists.
Fabregas fostered a strong disdain for Mourinho during his eight-year spell at Arsenal and a three-year stay at Barcelona.
The Spaniard has enjoyed a renaissance under the Portuguese tactician, but he admits working with him was beyond his wildest dreams.
"Three years ago I wouldn't have imagined working under Mourinho," Fabregas said.
"But in the end, life has many turns, and more so in football.
"We had a big rivalry with Mou (Mourinho), we were against him but I never hated him."
Fabregas admitted Chelsea were always the team he wanted to beat during his time with the Gunners.
"Chelsea was the team that I wanted to beat the most," he added.
"I also had a lot of spats with (John) Terry but in the end, we are people.
"I'm not driven by hate."
