Louis van Gaal has been handed an astonishing six-player shortlist worth nearly £300million.
During a charity day at Manchester United's Carrington HQ for supporters with life-limiting illnesses, one cheeky fan took the chance to give the Dutchman some transfer advice.
The confident supporter presented Van Gaal with a piece of paper with the names of six potential signings and their valuations.
And to his credit, the United boss showed a refreshing sense of honesty by openly discussing the list.
Borussia Dortmund centre-half Mats Hummels is No 1 on the sheet at £36m, with Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne second at a value of £15m.
Juventus ace Paul Pogba comes in third at £75m (although the helpful fan offers Roma hardman Kevin Strootman as a back-up midfield option for a cheaper £20m).
Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is fourth for a world-record fee of £120m with PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay next at £20m.
Porto striker Jackson Martinez finishes of the ambitious list at £25m.
Van Gaal was happy to joke about the situation, telling MUTV: "I have the list here with me, Hummels £36m, Clyne of Southampton £15m, Pogba £75m, Bale £120m… and Jackson Martinez of Porto £25m."
So which ones are you gonna sign then, Louis?
