Man United flop Angel Di Maria now tops the list of the 10 most expensive footballers ever

If you look at cumulative transfer fees, Di Maria has just replaced his new PSG team mate at the top of a pretty impressive list

We all know world class footballers don't come cheap. But even by the standards of the world's most expensive players, Angel Di Maria has proven to be a particularly pricey purchase.

When he signed for Man United, the £59.7m fee made him the most expensive player in British football history. Now that PSG have paid £46m to take him off United's hands, he is officially the most expensive footballer of all time.

Gareth Bale still holds the record for the highest single transfer fee (£85m), but in terms of TOTAL transfer fees, no player has had more money spent on them than the gangly Argentinian.
