WC Group B : Who will qualify and how?

This one is a done deal - Chile and the Netherlands are through

With four games in the group gone, it’s all about who tops the group...

HOLLAND - 6 POINTS

QUALIFIED: They tanked Spain, edged out Australia in a thriller, and with 6 points the Netherlands are through. If they can avoid defeat to Chile in their final game, they will top the group on goal difference. That means they will play the team who finish second in Group A.

CHILE - 6 POINTS
QUALIFIED: Chile have played some flowing football and outclassed both Australia and World Champions Spain. They’ve qualified, but to top the group they need to beat Holland.

NO CONSPIRACY!!!
The final Group B games are at 5pm UK time on Monday. The final Group A games are at 9pm.  That means that Chile and the Netherlands can’t manipulate the result to avoid Brazil.

SPAIN - 0 POINTS
BYE-BYE: In the last 20 years France, Italy and now Spain have won the World Cup, and then exited at the group stage in following tournament.
We feel a little bit sorry for the Spanish to be honest. They won Euro2008, the 2010 World Cup, and Euro2012, and all we could see on Twitter was “Ha! Ha! Ha! You’ve always been rubbish”.
