Arsenal and Liverpool lose in £5.5m race for France star Mathieu Valbuena

Dynamo Moscow look set to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to the signing of Mathieu Valbuena.

Valbuena has been constantly linked with a move away from Marseille this summer after shining for France at the World Cup, where they reached the quarter-finals.

Premier League pair Arsenal and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the 29-year-old's situation, with Les Olympiens reportedly open to offers of £5.5m.

However, the attacking midfielder appears to have opted for a move to Moscow, with reports in France claiming he is due to travel to Russia before the weekend.
