Les Girondins de Bordeaux have reportedly offered Real Madrid assistant manager, Zinedine Zidane a two-year contract to take on his first managerial role, despite both sides adamantly refuting rumours over the past several days.
According to French sports daily, L’Equipe, Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud and majority shareholder Nicolas de Tavernost, travelled to Madrid on Thursday to present the French legend with the formal offer.
When asked about the situation on Friday, Triaud responded with, “I have no comment to make. All in good time.”
The report goes on to add that Zidane is not expected to give an answer to the club until after the Champions League final on 24th May, the last of his Real Madrid obligations.
Should Zidane reject Bordeaux’s offer, it is believed that they will turn to former Bayern Munich right-back and current France U-21 manager, Willy Sagnol, due to his work with the youth players who have recently come through the system.
