Arsenal 'hijack Chelsea Loic Remy move'

Arsenal have reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to complete a deal for Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy from under the noses of fellow London rivals Chelsea.

Remy was left out the R's squad to face Sunderland on Saturday, with manager Harry Redknapp confirming that a deal with the Blues was close.

However, The Telegraph claims that the Gunners have triggered £10.5m buy-out clause in the player's contract.

Despite Arsenal's late move for the player, sources at Stamford Bridge are said to remain confident of concluding a deal for the French international and that Remy would choose to join the Blues.

Chelsea are also thought to be comfortable with the striker's physical health, despite the frontman reportedly failing a medical at Liverpool, earlier in the summer.
