Atlético Madrid are set to complete a move for Málaga right-back Jesús Gámez, after a verbal agreement was reached overnight, with both the player and his club.
The transfer wheels keep turning at La Liga champions Atlético Madrid, who have made a somewhat surprise move for Málaga right-back, Jesús Gámez.
According to Costa del Sol news portal, SUR, the two clubs were locked in talks overnight, with Gámez apparently agreeing verbally to the move and Málaga satisfied with the bid from Atlético.
The 29-year-old is now departing the Málaga squad, currently based in Switzerland, heading for Madrid to advance talks and business could be concluded as quickly as this evening. He will then compete with Juanfran for a place in the starting eleven at Atlético, during the 2014-2015 campaign.
Hailing from nearby Fuengirola, Gámez has spent his entire career at Málaga to date, making a total of 216 appearances for the club, since making his first-team breakthrough in the 2005-2006 season.
