Man Utd set to make late wage offer increase to HIJACK PSG's Angel Di Maria move

Manchester United are refusing to give up on signing Angel Di Maria and could make a late bid to hijack Paris Saint-Germain's interest in the winger.

Reports last night suggested that United had missed out on Di Maria with PSG agreeing to pay £60m to land the Argentine international from Real Madrid.

But reports in France today suggest that United are not willing to admit defeat that easily and are still hopeful they can persuade Di Maria to change his mind.

Indeed, it is suggested that United will up their wage offer to £120,000-a-week to entice the winger to England.

That is a substantial increase on the £90,000-a-week they had previously put forward and could put PSG in an awkward position.

Manchester United are ready to up their wage offer to Angel Di Maria
The French club are already struggling to fund the move due to Financial Fair Play restrictions and matching United's wage offer would place further pressure on their budgets.

PSG's issues could be alleviated if they are able to sell Ezequiel Lavezzi, Javier Pastore or Edinson Cavani but the Parc des Princes outfit have denied that they are currently in talks over a move for any of the trio.

It now remains to be seen whether United's new offer is enough to persuade Di Maria to change his mind or whether he already has his heart set on a move to Paris.
