Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that Morgan Schneiderlin will not be sold by the club this summer.
The French midfielder has been repeatedly linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur recently, and was reported to have handed in a transfer request after Saints chairman Ralph Krueger revealed his intention to keep him for the new season.
Koeman has followed Krueger's example by confirming that he is preparing for Southampton's Premier League campaign with Schneiderlin in his plans.
"It's the decision of the board, but I don't talk about it. He's a player at Southampton and he will continue as a player at Southampton," the Dutchman told Sky Sports News
"But I don't like to talk about that situation. I spoke to Morgan two days ago and he is still not in the shape to play a friendly at this level. He needs more training sessions. If he's ready he will play."
Schneiderlin's teammate Jay Rodriguez is also rumoured to be a target for Spurs.
