Gary Neville has stepped down from his role as an ambassador at Manchester United, according to a report.
The 39-year-old was handed the role in 2011 following his retirement from the game after 19 years as a professional with the Red Devils.
However, Neville's coaching duties with the England team along with his work as a pundit on Sky Sports have restricted the amount of time he could commit to the position, leading him to the decision to quit the role, reports The Mirror.
Neville also angered United boss Louis van Gaal as he compared the Red Devils to a pub team due to their recent poor displays ahead of their clash against Liverpool.
