Arsenal move for Borussia Dortmund star after sealing Paulista deal

Arsenal will follow up the signing of Villarreal star Gabriel Paulista by making a move for versatile Borussia Dortmund man Kevin Grosskreutz, a target for Manchester United.

The Gunners are confident of completing a move for the young Brazilian over the coming days after a work permit was granted ahead of his £15m switch.

However, Arsene Wenger is still keen to bolster his options as he looks to mount a late title challenge, and has made Grosskreutz his top target.

The 26-year-old can play in a variety of positions in both midfield and defence, and is available for just £3.7m.

Reports claim that Grosskreutz is an avid Arsenal fan, and despite interest from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, the player is keen to join Wenger at the Emirates.

Arsenal are also interested in his Dortmund team-mate Mats Hummels, but the imposing centre-back in unlikely to leave Jurgen Klopp's outfit.

However, the futures of Marco Reus and Ilkay Gundogan are up in the air, and Wenger could make a swoop for the duo this summer.
