Victor Valdes plays first game as Man Utd U-21s beat Liverpool

New Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes got his first taste of English football during the club's Under-21 victory over Liverpool tonight.

Victor Valdes played for Man Utd in their U-21 clash with Liverpool
Valdes was an old head among a number of young prospects in the United XI that included Nick Powell, Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett.

United beat Liverpool 2-1 thanks to goals from Powell and McNair, but Valdes failed to keep a clean sheet as Jerome Sinclair clipped past the keeper in the first half.

Valdes was a sub for United in their FA Cup clash with Cambridge last Friday and is set to be in the squad for their home league tie with Leicester this weekend.
