Paris Saint-Germain have set a new points record in Ligue 1 with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Lille this evening.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic came close to giving PSG an early lead when he worked some space to shoot in the box, before seeing his effort deflect just over the bar.
Yohan Cabaye was next to threaten for the visitors when his shot from range was beaten away by Vincent Enyeama.
Minutes later Cabaye was forced off the pitch following a late challenge from Marvin Martin, which led to the Lille midfielder being sent off, after he was initially shown a yellow card.
PSG made their numerical advantage count immediately as they took the lead in the 41st minute. Lucas Moura saw his shot beaten away by Enyeama, before Marquinhos followed up to head the ball into the unguarded net.
Idrissa Gueye wasted a decent chance for Lille at the start of the second half, but with time and space to shoot inside the box, he blazed an effort high over the bar.
They came even closer minutes later when Marko Basa was picked out unmarked from a corner, but he could only place his header wide of the post.
Basa was proving to be a danger at set pieces and he was found in space following a free kick, before seeing his header tipped over the bar by Salvatore Sirigu.
Despite the home side's domination, PSG added a second goal in the 65th minute. Following a quick break, Javier Pastore played the ball through for Lucas to smash an effort past the keeper.
With eight minutes of the match left to play Blaise Matuidi further extended PSG's lead, when he was slipped into the box by Lucas, before placing an effort into the bottom corner.
Jonathan Delaplace pulled a goal back for the hosts in the final minute of the match, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation as PSG claimed the three points.
