Liverpool are reportedly not looking to spend in the January transfer window, but are considering possible loan deals including Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin.
The Reds spent in excess of £100m last summer, but few of those new signings have blossomed since arriving at Anfield.
According to The People, Liverpool are not willing to spend another penny in January unless an exceptional player becomes available, but the club is happy to take players until the end of the season.
It is thought that the Merseyside club are keen to offload Mario Balotelli in the summer and its network of scouts are being tasked with finding loan players.
Liverpool have been alerted to Guarin's availability and deal may be struck on a permanent basis in the summer, if the club are allowed to take him on loan initially.
The Reds are currently ninth in the Premier League table.
